Abesco 'SSA60' Marine Fire Collars are designed to prevent the spread of fire from one compartment to another where plastic pipes penetrate fire separating bulkheads and deck, and provide an A60 Class rating.
Abesco 'SSA60' Marine Fire Collars consist of a stainless steel shell, which contains the heat reactive intumescent material. The unit is supplied in two semi circular halves and is held closed around the pipe by a unique and easy to use 'slidelock' closure device.

Testing and Certification.
All certification attained has been as a result of Abesco conducting fire tests to IMO Res A.754 (18) at an independent accredited fire test laboratory and independently witnessed by Lloyds.
Abesco has gained Type Approval from DNV, Lloyds and ABS.
Abesco has also gained MED B&D certification from DNV, which under the MRA, permits acceptance by USCG. |

What happens in a Fire Situation?
When exposed to the heat of a fire, the intumescent material contained in the 'SSA60' Fire Collar expands and exerts a high pressure on the melting plastic pipe, causing the opening to be closed off and thus preventing the spread of fire from one compartment to another.
